Interview with Nada Raza, Artistic Director of Ishara Foundation

Art

I recently interviewed Nada Raza, Artistic Director of Ishara Art Foundation for the Tea with Culture podcast.

Ishara Art Foundation opened in Dubai in March this year. Established by Smita Prabhakar, an entrepreneur, art collector and long term Dubai resident, the foundation is focused on contemporary art from a South Asian context, supporting cultural exchange and building on the shared histories, continued presence and cultural contribution of South Asian voices in the Gulf.

I ask Nada to explain more about the foundation and we also talk about its inaugural exhibition “Altered Inheritances: Home is a Foreign Place” which features works by Shilpa Gupta and Zarina. The exhibition is on until July 13 and I strongly recommend you go see it.
